Setting children on a healthy path early in their lives is the best way to prevent obesity, diabetes, and other chronic illnesses. Studies show that the eating habits we develop as children are most likely to follow us throughout our entire lives.
If we allow our children to develop unhealthy eating habits (like an “addiction” to high fat, high sugar foods, or a “dislike” of fresh fruits and vegetables), then they are likely to continue these habits into adulthood. Healthy Eating: Don’t Give Up on Veggies

Ever wonder why kids tend to shy away from many vegetables? Well, a recent study by Temple University’s Center for Obesity Research found that about 70% of children are sensitive to bitterness. This sensitivity makes vegetables like broccoli unpleasant to them.
So, what can we learn from this study? First, simply serving steamed vegetables and “forcing” kids to eat them probably isn’t going to work (no surprise to many parents!).
