Is it really possible to celebrate National Cake Day and still eat healthfully? It turns out that it is! You just have to select a healthier cake recipe.

At first I thought, “healthy cake, how is that possible?” I have always thought that one of the attractions of cake was its sinfulness. Part of the joy of eating cake is that you know it’s not good for you, isn’t it? But it tastes soooo good! So, how can you make a “healthy” cake that tastes good? Quite easily!

I did a quick search on Google for the term “healthy cake” and found literally scores of recipes that looked fantastic while still being low in calories. features “Luscious Cakes Under 250 Calories.” features “Healthy Cake Recipes,” and, not to be outdone, has “Healthy Dessert Recipes.”

Of course, you shouldn’t live on cake alone, and no cake will really be “good” for you, so moderation is still important, but you can enjoy cake as a treat without feeling too guilty. So, the next time you need to make a cake for a party or family get-together, try one of these healthier recipes, and then enjoy!”
