A recent report published in the New England Journal of Medicine says that “dogma and fallacies are detracting from real solution to the nation’s weight problems.”
Among other beliefs that people have about obesity and weight loss, this study claims that skipping breakfast will not lead to weight gain, and that school gym classes don’t make a big difference in kids’ weight. The study claims these are myths.

Is High Fructose Corn Syrup Really That Bad?

Chefs, restaurant owners, packaged-food companies and health advocates everywhere are purging high fructose corn syrup (HFCS) from their food. According to the Wall Street Journal, one San Diego restaurant spent several months and more than $15,000 making sure all of their sodas, cocktails, ice cream and sauces were HFCS-free. They are replacing it with sugar. But is HFCS really less healthy than the alternatives?
